Global Classroom
GLOBAL CLASSROOM
Bring your classroom to the world
And bring the world into your classroom.
The classroom does not have to be limited by geography.
Through the LBSC Global Classroom, students connect with peers from other schools and countries through joint classes, discussions, collaborative projects, presentations and cultural exchange.
They learn with people who may see the same question differently — because they experience the world differently.
THE IDEA
Learning should be global.
International education should mean more than learning about other countries from a textbook.
Students should have opportunities to meet people from other places, exchange perspectives and learn together.
The Global Classroom creates those opportunities.
A mathematics problem, a city of the future, a question about technology or a discussion about culture can become a shared learning experience between classrooms separated by thousands of miles.
The world becomes part of the classroom.
What students experience
Peer Teaching & Skills Exchange
Students teach one another something they know, whether a skill, an idea, a cultural practice or an area of expertise, building confidence, communication and mutual respect.
Joint Classes
A teacher from one Affiliate School leads a class or session, with students from other schools joining.
International Discussions
Students explore a question together and discover how perspectives differ across countries and cultures.
Collaborative Projects
Students work together to research, develop ideas and create something meaningful.
Presentations
Students share their thinking with peers beyond their own school.
Cultural Exchange
Students gain a more direct understanding of how other young people live, learn and see the world.
THE RECIPROCAL MODEL
Every school has something to teach.
The Global Classroom is not designed as a one-way exchange.
Affiliate Schools can both participate and contribute.
A school may host a class on a subject in which it has particular expertise, while its students later join another school’s classroom.
This creates a network in which knowledge moves in more than one direction.
Your school is not simply joining a classroom. It is becoming part of a global learning community.
WHY IT MATTERS
What students develop
Through international classroom experiences, students can develop:
Share experience
Exchange ideas
Confidence
Cultural understanding
Critical thinking
Listening
Perspective-taking
Curiosity
Presentation skills.
The objective is not simply to make students more international.
It is to help them become more capable of working with people who are different from them.
How it works
Simple for Schools. Meaningful for Students.
01
CONNECT
Your school connects with other participating schools.
02
PREPARE
Students receive the context and preparation they need.
03
PARTICIPATE
Students meet, discuss, collaborate and learn.
04
CREATE
Where appropriate, students produce a shared output or presentation.
05
REFLECT
Students consider what they learned from the experience and from one another.
FOR TEACHERS
Extend your classroom without leaving it.
Global Classroom experiences are designed to complement what teachers are already teaching.
A teacher does not need to redesign the curriculum to make international connection meaningful.
LBSC provides the connection and experience; teachers remain at the centre of their students’ learning.
Your classroom can be bigger than your school.
Connect your students to a wider world of learning.
